Breeze is a 35 year old Quarter horse, and also a former barrel race horse. Breeze has been with us for many many years now. When Breeze came to us she was starving, and we nursed her back to health. She has trouble eating and is very old.
Lightning is a blind Arabian. He was found in a 10x10ft dog pen. His previous owner was also blind and could no longer care for him in Northern FL. Lightning has been blind for three years now. When Lightning was found he was being under fed and got little attention. His hooves were so outgrown that they were starting to curl upwards.
We found Dutchess at a horse auction going to slaughter. This sweet Arabian was going to die. She has a bad skin problem, and also Dutchess has fractured her right hind leg, then celcium deposits builded up. With out our help for her should would not have had a chance to live the rest of her life ahead of her.
Jasmine was a survivor of Hurricane Andrew. She came to Aziizi after her home had been destroyed. Jasmine was left starving, and was also found roaming the streets after the storm. As you can see from the after picture she is a wonderful example of what love can do.
Sir Jeffery is former race horse. He fractured his left front leg, and is now permantly lame. Before Sir Jeffery came to the Aziizi Foundation he was rescued by another horse rescue. Then they adopted him out, and the owner wanted to return him, but they were no longer in business. So he came to us. He was very hard to handle. At first you couldn't even put a halter on him. After our time to love and care for him he is so sweet.
Stormy was found in Ft.Pierce. He was starving and was in an area with fighting pitbulls. When Stormy came to us he was a stud. We later found out that he has broken right shoulder. He is now permanatly lame.
Rena was also a survivor of a Hurricane. Hurricane Irene. Rena was found with her daughter Rose. Both of their halters were grown deeply into their faces. now they have scares from the halters for the rest of their lives. Rena was found starving with her daughter.
Thomas was a misunderstood, under weight horse. His owner could not take the proper care of this horse any longer. Thomas found his way to the Aziizi Foundation. Now he is here to live the rest of his life in PEACE.
Hey baby is a former race horse. Hey baby became blind by running straight through a fence during a thunder storm. The previous owners had her locked in a trailer for days. Hey Baby is now permanatly blind but living like a queen at Aziizi's sanctuary happily ever after.
Mirracle (a.k.a Mirra) a andalusion/peruvian paso came to us at only a wealing and born blind. Mirra was going to be put down because she was blind and there was no use for her. Her mother was a brood mare, and Mirra was her 12th and last foal. We also rescued her mama, Amarra. She was a Peruvian Paso. Mirra is also very smart. She has become Bernadette's baby and has learned a few tricks. She can say yes, no & give hugs. Mirra is now 5 years old and is happier than ever.
